Mr. & Miss Apollo - Birmingham

Held in the late summer or early fall of each year, the Mr. & Miss Apollo  Birmingham Pageant brings to the stage some of the finest that Birmingham has to offer in the areas of female impersonation and male entertainment.  Contestants must be 21 years of age and compete in a variety of categories, including Presentation, Formal Wear/Evening gown, Interview, and Talent.  In addition to the title of Mr. or Miss Apollo Birmingham, judges also award the Leah Shannon Award to the winner of the Evening Gown Competition, the Anthony Longobardi / Larry Thacker Award to the winner of the Formal Wear Competition, and the Betty Eveready Award to the overall winner of the Interview Competition.

The winner of the Mr. and Miss Apollo - Birmingham title will go on to represent the Mystic Krewe of Apollo - Birmingham at the National Mr. and Miss Apollo Pageant.  They are also presented at the annual Bal Masque as well as make special appearances, on behalf of the Krewe throughout the year
